For this post, I thought I’d do a photo illustration of my recent trip to the Buder Branch library in St. Louis!
I went to graduate school in Missouri, so I was super excited when I was invited to St. Louis for a library event! I said yes right way. Although I went to school in Columbia, St. Louis (at two hours) away was my closest airport-so I spent a lot of time on 1-70 (the major highway) and the airport! And I did make it to the arch while in Missouri.
Back to the library visit!
I left at 6 am EST to fly from LGA to STL.
Of course, I had to do some research on STL, rental cars, hotels first. Usually, I stay with friends, but this time I was on my own!
At the airport, I picked my favorite row: 13! Most people avoid it, but not me!
Once I made it to STL, I rented this car:
And checked into a airport hotel.
After a short workout, I went out exploring!
I ended up at Target (which I dearly miss, the closest one here is still far!) I bought this great bag for 20 dollars!
Then I headed off to the reading/signing. The Buder Branch library is beautiful! A major thanks to Jennifer Conroy and Patty Carleton with the St. Louis Libraries! I think my next dream job is librarian!
And a big thanks to Jennifer with Pudd’nHead Books for coming!
The reading went very well! the age range of attendees was a good 60 years, but I think everyone had a good time. Here’s a picture of me and some attendees! These girls had the BEST questions.
After the signing, I hung out in St. Charles, one of Louis and Clarke’s stops on the Mississippi! It’s gorgeous (think Old town Virginia). I need to go back!
I was up at 5 this morning! And I ate at the BEST restaurant ever! The wolfgang puck restaurant in the American Terminal! They have PIZZA for breakfast! Here’s the adorable sign!
I was back in NYC by 12 noon today! Thanks to everyone in St. Louis! I had the BEST time going back to one of the places WHERE I BELONG!
